Ka poipoi Te Tamaiti Hei Raukura i ngā ākonga, hei ākonga, hei kaiwhakaaro, hei kaihāpai hoki i Aotearoa me te ao whānui. Nā tēnei anga te whakahou i whakanoho kia ahu ai ki wāhi whakaihiihi, ā, ka whakawhanaketia tonutia ā ngā tau e 5 e tū mai ana.
“From a Māori perspective, the child is the carrier of hopes and aspirations between past and future generations. The expression, ‘Te Tamaiti Hei Raukura’ captures the essence of this notion”
Te Tamaiti Hei Raukura stems from a Māori world view and reflects the values of Māori society and what whānau want for their children as Māori, and as global citizens. It places ākonga at the centre of learning while recognising their place as mokopuna and ancestors for the future. Te Tamaiti Hei Raukura nurtures ākonga as learners, thinkers and contributors to Aotearoa and the wider world. The framework places the redesign in an exciting direction and will be developed further over the next 5 years.
