Te Waka o Rangi is a star cluster. Beginning with Matariki at the prow of the waka, to Puanga who is at the stern. Taramainuku is the captain of this canoe. Gathering those who have passed and taking them beyond the veil.

- There are two renown waka in ancient narratives, the aforementioned Te Waka o Rangi and Te Waka o Tamarereti
